I've mentioned my little garden here and told you all a bit about my first harvest. I was stupidly excited about it! Well, I'm stupidly excited again! I have more asparagus popping up, my tomato plants are already blossoming, and I'm pretty sure my mint plants are trying to take over the world.
| My apologies for the terrible picture quality. I do my best gardening while the dude is a sleep. |
I recently put some mulch down over my garlic, rosemary, tomatoes and cucumber in hopes of not having to water 3 times a day. Hopefully that will keep any volunteer crap from popping up in the pots, too. Even in a small container garden, I hate pulling weeds.
Anyway, I don't have much to talk about tonight, I just felt like showing off.

Awesome! I recently started a garden but didn't even think of garlic. Totally dumb given how much I absolutely love garlic. Mint is wonderful for repelling mice and rats but geez, that stuff loves to grow. Keep up the awesome work! :)
ReplyDeleteI've found that I may be too impatient to grow garlic. You're really supposed to start it in the fall and dig it up in late spring. Well, I started mine in early spring so I'll dig it up late summer. THEN you have to let it dry and "cure" for a few weeks. I've got Veruca Salt syndrome..."But I want it noooow!"
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the encouragement! What are you growing?
... garlic now sounds like a lot of work. :P I planted some artichoke from seed not realizing they take up to six months for a harvest. Of the seeds I've started the radishes and spinach seem to be doing best. My onions have really weak roots so I'm thinking they won't survive the transfer. I have a bunch of stuff I didn't start but is starting to produce. Raspberries, strawberries, cucumber, yellow bell pepper and 2 tomatoes. Keeping my fingers crossed! :)
